The X International Siberian Historical Forum “Siberia and Russia: history and culture”

From October 18 to 20, 2023, the X International Siberian Historical Forum “Siberia and Russia: history and culture” was held in Krasnoyarsk. The Siberian Historical Forum is an important traditional platform for professional communication between scientists, which helps strengthen ties between the scientific and humanitarian communities and preserve the historical and cultural heritage of our country, traditions, and values of Russian regions.
The forum included dozens of sections, round tables, scientific seminars, and discussion platforms, which were thematically distributed across six platforms: Ancient history of Eurasia (archaeology, ethnography, anthropology), History of Siberia, Traditions and modernity in the culture and art of Siberia, Problems of historical knowledge, Current problems in teaching history, Local history. The forum discussed the creation of a unified textbook on the history of the Fatherland, the state, positioning, and promotion of high science and its popular science version. The debate was impressive.
OSMU was represented by the teachers of the Philosophy, Humanities, and Social Sciences Department: Prof. Assoc. Tatiana A. BELOVA, PhD in History, and Prof. Asst. Alena L. BRITSKAYA. They gave a speech devoted to the history of everyday life in the Siberian regions, namely the food culture of Siberians, primarily using the example of the Omsk region. The teachers also took part in the discussion of the project “Fundamentals of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in the Field of Historical Education,” the results of which will be presented to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
