Two huge events dedicated to the practice of obstetricians and gynecologists took place in OSMU

Two huge events dedicated to the practice of obstetricians and gynecologists took place in OSMU: Interregional Scientific Conference “Interdisciplinary interaction in the practice of an obstetrician-gynecologist” dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the National Educational Forum “Theory and practice of anesthesia and intensive care: a multidisciplinary approach”.
The organizers of events were OSMU, Association of Obstetric Anesthesiologists and Intensivists, and Omsk Regional Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Irina V. SAVELIEVA, MD, PhD, Co-Chairperson of the Conference, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1, Chief External Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Omsk Region, noted that the Conference was dedicated to discussing modern methods of periodic health examination of women of reproductive age, and the main block of questions was related to problems in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases and complex obstetric clinical cases with an emphasis on predicting socially significant health disorders.
The main objective of the Forum was improving the qualifications of healthcare professionals by creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between anesthesiologists, intensivists, obstetricians-gynecologists, and other specialists involved in intensive care and treatment of emergency and critical conditions, since the Forum was created for interdisciplinary solutions to issues of obstetric practice, reducing maternal and perinatal mortality.
The events gathered together many doctors of different specialties: obstetricians-gynecologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, oncologists, general practitioners etc., as well as residents and PhD students.
Among the speakers at the events were expert scientists from Moscow, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, and Omsk. Our University was represented by the following Departments: Obstetrics and Gynecology №1; Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology; Internal and Family Medicine, including Postgraduate Training Courses; Surgical Diseases and Urology, including Postgraduate Training Courses; Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology; Obstetrics and Gynecology №2, General Surgery. It marked an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the issues raised in reports. The main themes were covered by such examples of reports as “Miscarriage, prematurity: contribution to the demographic situation”, “Management of patients with disorders associated with menopause”, “Oncological aspects of endometrium diseases and the preventive approach”, “Choice of an antibacterial drug within the framework of guidelines for pregnant women with UTI".
The format of meetings at the events differed. Twenty-five scientific reports were made at the Conference indicating a wide coverage of the material. The Forum became a platform for delving into the subject and involved the discussion of the raised questions. That is why there were less reports, but more opportunities for discussion.
At the end of the Conference and the Forum, listeners asked questions, which indicated the relevance of the presentations and topics raised by the speakers.
